1. Feeding your pet the optiomal diet
- The Natural Alternative
2. Safe guard your pets against the
Environment
Knowing what to feed their pets is not enough, it is
also important for pet owners to know how to feed their
pets. Before we take a look at the optimal diet for
a pet, let's review 12 important feeding principles
of which every pet lover should be aware:
|
| Feeding
your pet the optimal diet - The Natural Alternative |
Feeding Principles
Feed your pet at the same time (or times) each day
to keep appetite steady and bowel movements regular.
Don't feed your pet immediately before or after
hard exercise or play, or before a long car ride.
Serve fresh food at each feeding.
Serve the food at room temperature only.
Allow your pet about 15 minutes to eat, then remove
uneaten food. Never allow extra food to remain after
your pet is finished with it.
Keep distractions to a minimum while your pet is
eating.
Dry food should be stored in a cool place protected
from insects and rodents. Leftover canned food should
not be kept refrigerated - either use it all or
discard. Soft-moist food does not require refrigeration
either, but it should be kept sealed until used.
Don't be alarmed if there are times when your perfectly
healthy pet shows no particular interest in eating.
At one time in the wild, dogs and cats led a feast-or-famine
existence, and this may be the animal's natural
way of giving its stomach a rest.
Variety is important, but abrupt changes 'in diet
can cause digestive problems. When changing to a
new diet, do so gradually by adding a little of
the new food to the former food bit by bit until
the change is complete.
Make the pet feeding process easier by building
it around the one you follow for your own meals.
This means you won't have to make a separate job
out of feeding your pet.
Water is critical to the health and well-being of
your pet, and a continuous supply of fresh drinking
water must always be available to maintain fluid
balance.
Give Pet Sun Chlorella to your pet. It has all the
nutrients your pet needs for extra protection and
superior health.
If you have been feeding your pets only commercially
purchased dog food, now may be the time to add some
fresh food into their diets. Start adding bits of
chicken or other meat from your family dinner to
your pet's bowl (or leftovers that might otherwise
get thrown out). Next, as you chop up raw vegetables
for your family's salad, chop up a few extra pieces
for your pet and put them into its bowl. Gradually
start adding grains and fruits.
Unique and different pets sometimes have special
needs for the "Optimal Diet." Depending
on the natural diet of your pet, you can adjust
the following "Optimal Diet" plan given
to suit your pet's nutritional requirements.
The Optimal Diet
Meat: One-third to one-half (for
dogs) and three quarters ( for cats) of the daily
serving should be comprised of meat, preferably
raw. Approximately, one-sixth of the daily meat
serving should be organ meat (e.g. heart, kidney,
gizzard, spleen). Provide fish perhaps twice a week
and chicken often. Never feed your cat any type
of bone.
Vegetable, fruits, & grains: The rest
of the daily serving should be comprised of grated
raw carrot or other grated raw fruits and vegetables;
cooked brown rice, whole grain breads or cereals,
or chopped nuts.
Milk products: Yogurt or unpasturized
milk should be given several times a week.
Fats: Polyunsaturated fat daily
(in the form of soybean oil, sesame oil, etc.)
Eggs: One or two raw egg yolks
(no whites), or soft-cooked whole eggs a week.
Dry dog or cat food (optional):
Supplement your pet's serving with one of the purer
dry foods from a health food store.
Pure water: It is especially important
to maintain proper fluid balance.
Vitamin and mineral supplements (some nutritional
veterinarians consider these optional for the healthy
pet): Vitamin C (in the form of sodium
ascorbate), Vitamin E, and multi vitamin / mineral
supplements formulated for dogs.
Pet Sun Chlorella has all these vitamins and
more!

Although a natural diet may be the best for your pet's
health, you should consult a holistic veterinarian before
making any major dietary changes. Your vet will be able
to tell you what is best for your individual pets. They
will also be able to tell you what foods should be avoided.
For instance, chocolate is known to be poisonous
to most animals. Apple seeds, onion powder, and bread
dough are other foods to avoid giving your pet.
The purpose of nutrition should be to support an
animal with nutrients in order for him or her to have
the best of life. Consider all of your options for
your pet. While natural health therapies for illness
and disease are not new, many more pet owners are
considering them for the first time. Proper nutrition
and diet may be your pet's best defense against many
illnesses and diseases.

| Safe
guard your pets against the Environment |
Our environment is not always the safest place for you,
so why would it be any different for your pet? There
are many dangerous elements that can harm the health
of your pet. Here are some things to watch for and ways
to safeguard your pet's environment |
Drinking Water:
The quality of our pet's drinking water is important
to their overall health. Does your pet drink from
dirty puddles? Even natural bodies of water such as
rivers and streams can be contaminated with pesticides
and industrial wastes among other things. These contaminants
can introduce free radicals into your pet's body.
Never allow your pet to drink from the river, puddles
etc. Always provide them with clean tap water or bottled
water when you are outside..
|
Lead Poisoning:
Lead poisoning is one of the biggest unseen threats
to your pet. Some sources of lead contamination include
paint, lead water pipes, and colored newspaper. Surprisingly,
high and sometimes dangerous levels of lead can be
found in canned pet foods. Most pet food cans are
aluminum and sealed with lead. Never keep an open
can of pet food in your refrigerator. Oxygen, combined
with aluminum and lead, can form a lethal combination
for your pet.
|
Smog or Smoke:
The air your pet breathes is unfortunately
not as clean as it should be. Smog and smoke can introduce
your pet to a host of toxins that are harmful to their
health. Wheezing and fatigue are just two of the symptoms
that indicate your pet is being exposed to smog or
secondary smoke. Keep your pet indoors on smoggy days.
If you do smoke, try to keep to a minimum, your pets'
exposure to the smoke.
There are many other environmental dangers your pet
may be exposed to. Toxic elements such as household
cleaning items, air fresheners, & insecticides
can also be hazardous to your pet's health. However,
feeding them Pet Sun Chlorella can give your pet the
extra defense they need to stay healthy and strong!
Considering all of these dangers to you and your pet,
remember that chlorophyll is known as nature's most
powerful detoxifying agent. Pet Sun Chlorella contains
more natural chlorophyll than any other food! This
natural substance can be very useful in removing lead
molecules and other harmful toxins. As a preventative
measure, Pet Sun Chlorella is an excellent choice
to combat all of these environmental threats!
Whatever in doubt, always consult your vet.
